Inject once a week, on the same day each week, into the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. Rotate injection sites and follow the instructions provided by your prescriber and the patient information leaflet.
Common UK strengths are 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg and 15 mg pens. Doses are usually increased gradually under prescriber guidance.
Many people notice appetite changes within weeks, but weight loss varies. Best results come with sustained weekly dosing, nutrition and activity changes, and prescriber follow-up.
If you miss a dose, follow the instructions in the patient information leaflet or contact our pharmacy team. Do not double dose to make up for a missed injection.
Yes, but keep it within the recommended storage conditions and carry it in original packaging with your prescription details. If flying, use hand luggage and keep it cool as advised in the leaflet.
Keep refrigerated at 2–8°C. Do not freeze. Protect from light. Follow the patient information leaflet for any permitted time at room temperature and always discard if storage conditions have not been met.
The most reported are nausea, indigestion, stomach discomfort, constipation or diarrhoea, especially when starting or increasing dose. Seek medical advice urgently if you have severe or persistent abdominal pain or signs of an allergic reaction.
Tell the prescriber about all medicines you take. Some medicines (including for diabetes) may need review when starting Mounjaro.
Moderation is advised. Alcohol can affect blood sugar and appetite and may worsen stomach side effects.
