Canesten Thrush 500mg pessary contains the active ingredient clotrimazole, which is an antifungal medicine for vaginal infections. The Canesten pessary is a single-dose treatment for vaginal thrush (candidiasis). It comes with an applicator that allows you to go directly to the infection site for effective internal treatment. Thrush is an infection caused by a yeast called Candida. This yeast normally lives quite happily in your body without doing you any harm. When your vagina’s natural pH balance is disturbed, which it can easily happen, Candida can multiply and cause the uncomfortable and irritating symptoms of vaginal thrush.
