The active ingredient per 5ml is: pholcodine monohydrate 5mg The other ingredients are: citric acid monohydrate (E330), sodium methyl, ethyl, propyl parahydroxybenzoates (E215, E217, E219), glycerol (E422), saccharin sodium, xanthan gum (E415), caramel (E150c), cough mixture flavour (contains propylene glycol (E1520)) and purified water This medicine contains: • Sodium parahydroxybenzoates which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed) • 52.3mg propylene glycol in each 5ml dose • Less than 1mmol sodium (23mg) per 5ml dose, that is to say essentially ‘sodium-free’
